Hannah's story

Hannah* was employed at a bottling plant when she suffered an injury to her back as a result of a fall in the toilets.

Unbeknown to Hannah, a problem had been reported to her employer the day before her accident about a leak from an overflow pipe in one of the toilets.

Just before Hannah entered the toilets, another colleague had noticed the leak and had also gone to report it.

As a result of her fall, the Unite member suffered an exacerbation of a pre-existing back problem.

She contacted Unite Legal Services who went on to secure £10,000 in compensation for its member.
