Linda K's story
I cannot thank Unite Legal Services enough for taking on my case and successfully winning compensation due to their impeccable service.
Linda was involved in an accident during the course of her employment as a social care worker at a group home. On the day of the accident, Linda was descending the staircase in the group home when she fell and sustained soft tissue injuries to her neck and right knee.
Linda’s employers failed to provide her with a safe place to work. The carpet on the staircase was dark and inadequately lit. Linda was unable to see where she was placing her feet and her fall occurred as a result.
Linda, through Unite Legal Services, was contacted by a specialist personal injury solicitor to discuss her case, who secured a settlement for her after negotiating with the insurance company acting on behalf of her employers. No court action was required which meant that Linda was able to secure compensation quickly and without the need to attend at court.
Unite Legal Services funded a medical report from a consultant in accident and emergency medicine and surgery, which assisted Linda’s case by setting out the injuries which she sustained as a result of the accident at work.
Negotiations commenced between Linda’s solicitor and the insurance company. The insurers admitted liability and were persuaded to put forward an offer of £1,800 which was accepted by Linda as suitable compensation for her injuries. As this case was funded by Unite Legal Services, Linda retained 100% of her compensation.
Commenting on her case, she said: "I cannot thank Unite Legal Services enough for taking on my case and successfully winning compensation due to their impeccable service."
