A Port Talbot family fun day will be held this weekend, as part of Unite’s Support UK Steel campaign.
When: 1100 to 1400 hrs, Sunday 1 September 2024
Where: The SCOW, Abbots Cl, Margam, Port Talbot SA13 2NF
The event will feature a range of activities, including a live band, a bouncy castle, face painting, crafts and games for all ages.
There will also be speeches about the importance of preserving steel jobs and their impact on the local and national economy.
Unite representatives will be available to speak with steel workers about any issues they may be facing and to discuss the broader implications of Tata Steel's plans for the future of UK steel.
Unite lead organiser Claire Peden said: “Unite’s Support UK Steel family fun day is about thanking the community for their tremendous support, reinforcing the importance of the steel industry and sending a powerful message to decision makers about the urgent need to protect vital steel jobs.”
